A 2018 study titled the Copenhagen City Heart Study found that playing tennis could add up to 9 years to your life span.
The study also showed that those who played team sports like soccer and badminton lived longer than those who did solo activities such as swimming, cycling and running.
While being active is certainly part of leading a healthy lifestyle, researchers say it’s the social aspect of sports like tennis that may be the reason for an increase in life expectancy. So instead of hitting the gym, try opting for a social sport instead and you just might add a few extra years on to your life.
